Boston-based production company VAGRANTS has partnered with the sports and lifestyle photographer Dave Salafia.
A New England native himself, Dave grew up ice skating and playing baseball on Boston’s North Shore, before starting his career as an art director and designer. “I spent the first part of my career working for some of the best advertising agencies and design shops in Boston,” said Dave. “I loved it. But I could never seem to put the camera down.”
The second half of his career has seen Dave firmly behind the lens, shooting stills around the world, from Saudi Arabia to the UK, Mexico, Argentina and the USA. In the world of sports, he’s shot commercial projects for ASICS, HOKA, Puma and lululemon, and in other sectors for the likes of Amazon, Crocs, Reebok and Keurig. He’s collaborated with top agencies including Anomaly, BBDO, VML and The Martin Agency, and editorial publications like ESPN Magazine, Fortune and Shape.
“I love making images that are full of life, colour and movement,” he said. “Good energy; I live for it. And I am incredibly grateful that I get to meet such amazing people along the way."
His next cohort of amazing people is VAGRANTS - and co-founder Dustin Devlin said that Dave fits right in. "It brings me great joy to say: Salafia is a Vagrant. Just like the rest of our talented roster, he is a true creative hyphenate. Starting his career off on the agency side before going fully into photography, he truly understands the mission of clients from the word go.
“There is no task too tall to pull off, and he brings the same voracious creative energy to every meeting that he brings on set,” Dustin added. “Beyond that, he is a photographer that truly understands the production process and how to pull off amazing visuals within the context of a busy multi-faceted production.
“We've been running parallel paths with Dave for so long, but I am so happy to officially welcome him to the squad."
