Nike recently released their new SB Free skateboarding shoe that boasts flexibility, control, and cushioning for riders. To help launch the new sneaker, Nike enlisted the help of pro-boarders Sean Malto and Shane O’Neill and agency/production company Brand New School. In the short film “Nike SB Free,” the skateboarding duo showcase their best tricks on ramps and rails sporting the new SB Free gear.
Executive Creative Director/Director Jonathan Notaro visualizes the simile that skating with the state-of-the-art sneakers is a lot like skating barefoot - natural and easy. He utilized a responsive set which illuminates the moment the skater comes in contact with sensors. The set is painted entirely in white ensuring maximum exposure and contrast as the skaters pull off their stunts.
