Cossette West announces the appointment of Pierre Chan as the new group creative director, effective June 4, 2024. With an impressive background in creative leadership, paired with numerous international accolades, Pierre brings a wealth of experience, local knowledge and talent to the agency.
Prior to joining Cossette West, Pierre served as the creative director for Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE), where he played a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction of the Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver Warriors and Rogers Arena. Before his tenure with CSE, Pierre held the position of executive creative director at Point Blank and creative director at One Twenty Three West. During that time, he helped lead campaigns for clients like Okanagan Spring Brewery, CAA, Destination BC, Pabst Blue Ribbon, David Suzuki Foundation and BCLC.
Notably, Pierre returns to Cossette with a wealth of familiarity, having previously been with the agency from 2013 to 2019. It’s truly a homecoming of sorts, as he reunites with the Cossette family to support its ambition of delivering exceptional creative work.
“We’re delighted to welcome Pierre back to Cossette,” said Robyn Smith, VP, general manager at Cossette West. “His proven track record of creative excellence and deep understanding of the West market make him an invaluable addition to our team. With Pierre’s leadership and commitment to developing talent, we’re confident that we’ll further elevate our creative output and deliver exceptional results to our clients.”
Pierre’s arrival comes at an exciting time for Cossette West, as the agency recently announced the appointment of Driscoll Reid as chief creative officer. Together, Pierre and Driscoll will lead the creative team in the West, bolstering the agency’s creative authority and driving innovation across all client accounts.
“Some of the best work I ever created was while I was at Cossette,” said Pierre. “I have always admired the agency’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries and delivering impactful work. To say I’m excited to collaborate with the team again, and its clients, would be an understatement.”
Driscoll added, “I’m excited to have Pierre in Vancouver overseeing the creative output from such a talented group of people. Pierre’s familiarity with Cossette’s long-standing clients and the region, combined with his attention to the craft and emerging technologies, will only mean bigger and better things for the stellar office we have there.”
Pierre Chan’s appointment as group creative director is a testament to Cossette’s dedication to fostering top-tier creative talent and delivering exceptional work for clients. His return promises to bring renewed energy and creativity to the agency, benefiting both the teams and clients alike.
