At this year’s The Fifty, Colorado’s premier celebration of creativity, Party Land emerged as a standout and jury favourite, earning top honours for its breakthrough creative work.
The award, which highlights the top 50 breakthrough ideas conceived or nurtured in Colorado, is renowned for pushing boundaries and redefining creative excellence. Winners are recognised with the coveted gold bar, symbolising exceptional achievement and impact.
Party Land took home three of the five Judge’s Choice awards, with JanSport’s 'Always With You' campaign winning two and Men’s Wearhouse’s 'Love the Way You Look' campaign earning one. The agency’s 'Still Smell Good' campaign for Every Man Jack also earned a spot on The Fifty. These honours highlight Party Land’s knack for combining sharp strategy with bold humour to create unforgettable campaigns that sear themselves in people’s minds.
Party Land’s comedic anthem series for JanSport, 'Always With You,' breathed new life into the iconic backpack brand by connecting with college-aged gen z. The TikTok-driven campaign embraced absurdity, presenting JanSport as a ubiquitous companion in hilariously mundane moments. With unpolished, deadpan humour and original songs, the highly effective campaign struck a chord with its audience, delivering a 71% increase in purchase intent and 385% higher engagement at launch than the previous year.
Judges praised the campaign’s ingenuity:
“They’ve taken a kind of old school product and breathed some cool into it. The original music and lyrics rule. Everything felt right and very unexpected at the same time.” said Allison Apperson, associate creative director, Arnold Worldwide.
“I love that, at their heart, they’re unhinged little product demos. The ridiculous scenarios and perfectly (not) on-pitch songs lift them above the crowd.” said Janay Blazejewski, freelance art/creative director.
To reintroduce Men’s Wearhouse to a younger generation, Party Land crafted a bold revamp, replacing nostalgia with humour and confidence. Their 'Love the Way You Look' campaign featured a larger-than-life protagonist embodying the newfound swagger customers feel when dressing up. From a refreshed brand voice and design to impactful in-store displays and quick-hit social content, Party Land redefined Men’s Wearhouse as a modern style destination. Results included a 300% increase in purchase intent and a tripling of unaided awareness.
Judges were impressed by the campaign’s creativity:
“I loved it for its smart writing, a cheeky idea, and great execution.” said Rushil Nadkarni, associate creative director at The Martin Agency
Building on their success with 'Them Beardles', Party Land delivered another hit with 'Still Smell Good,' a campaign for male grooming brand Every Man Jack’s naturally-derived deodorant. Using a simple yet unforgettable jingle, the campaign debunked the myth that natural products can’t perform, all with a fraction of competitors’ media budgets. The results? Awareness doubled, and consideration per dollar was four times higher than industry benchmarks.
