For U.S. commercial representation

Bicoastal/London-based Park Pictures has signed noted director/designer/photographer Vincent Haycock for U.S. commercial representation.  Haycock has helmed spots for Absolut SF and others, and music videos for the likes of Florence and the Machine, Editors and Spiritualized.  Recently, he took home an MTV VMA for Best Electronic Dance Video for Calvin Harris, “Feel So Close,” along with a VEVO People’s Choice Video of the Year Award for his Calvin Harris “Sweet Nothing,” featuring Florence Welch.  His latest music video output is the artfully tumultuous “Lover to Lover” for Florence and the Machine, featuring actor Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom, Killing Them Softly).  As a title designer, Haycock contributed to Fight Club’s title sequence, among others, and was nominated for a ‘04 Emmy® for designing and directing the main title sequence for Nip/Tuck.

Says Park Pictures Co-Owner/EP Jackie Kelman Bisbee: “Vincent has the ability to create beautifully cinematic worlds that you want to step into.  We’re very excited to be working with him.”

Haycock grew up in a small town in northern California before shipping off to San Francisco to study graphic design and film at California College of the Arts.  After graduation, he served as creative director for Juxtapoz Art Magazine and designer for Words & Pictures at the Cranbrook Art Academy, from which he contributed to the iconic Fight Club title sequence.  He went on to direct and design the Nip/Tuck title sequence, earning him an Emmy® nod and launching him as a director.

His work often focuses on intimate stories of youth culture, finding that hazy purgatory between the real and the imagined.  He likes creating worlds that are authentic and honest, and then slightly subverting them, exploring the border between fiction and non-fiction.

Later this month, a retrospective of Haycock’s photography and music videos, curated by Guy Hepner, will tour galleries across the globe.
