Papaya London Signs Director Lachlan Dickie

The multi-disciplinary director, who is known for his powerful, performance driven work comments,  ‘Whilst there’s a definite conceptual thread through my work, I think it’s healthy to adapt and change styles and techniques to each script, rather than be immovably tied to one approach.’

Lachlan swiftly started making music videos after graduating Art School, and co-founded the now iconic directing duo, Krozm. The partnership went on to win many awards across both music videos and commercials.

Lachlan comments, ‘we were doing everything involved in creating the work - writing, producing, VFX, editing, everything. It’s definitely informed my journey through to commercial work as I’ve been able to know exactly what is possible in each of those departments and try new ideas and styles as often as possible.

Lachlan’s work has garnered many accolades over the years, including ‘Most Watched Ad of the Year’.  The innovative director muses that he likes to ‘find new ways to push ideas against the grain or show parts of the modern world in an absurd way.

He has worked on campaigns for global brands such as HSBC, Subaru and Ford to name but a few. He concludes, ‘It feels great to be branching out with Papaya in a part of the world that shares a lot of my sensibilities in commercials.
