Paola has worked with clients such as Kering, Pandora, Swatch, Nestlé, Intel, Michael Kors and Levi's, among others

Dentsu, the Japanese marketing, advertising and communication giant, introduced its new chief executive officer for media in Mexico. Paola Maximo will take the reins of the business in the market; starting this October, the executive started to oversee the agencies Carat, iProspect, and dentsu X, and reports directly to Philippe Seignol, CEO of the group.

Paola has a career of more than 22 years in the marketing world in different markets, of which she has been part of the dentsu group for almost 10 years. In the last five and a half years, she worked as managing partner in the UK for iProspect, a global digital-first end-to-end media agency that is part of dentsu. During this period, she led the relationships with different regional and global clients, such as Kering, Pandora, Swatch, Nestlé, Intel, Michael Kors and Levi's, among others.

Previously, Paola was in charge of iProspect's business in Brazil, where she started in 2014 and had different responsibilities such as Client Services, Growth Strategy & Operations and Business. During this period she was responsible for strengthening the agency's positioning in the market, as well as winning an important number of clients such as Heineken, Samsung, Accor and Cielo, among others.

Her experience is completed by roles as global head of mobile marketing & partnerships for Movile, marketing consultant for Citibank and different responsibilities at Abril Group, all in the Brazilian market.

"I had the pleasure of working with Paola for many years when she headed iProspect Brazil," said Philippe Seignol, CEO of dentsu Mexico. "I have witnessed her commitment leading teams, transforming businesses and driving growth for our clients, which has led to the strengthening of the brands and operations under her charge. I trust Paola to help us maintain the momentum we have had, lead our talent and continue to be the best business partner for our clients, strengthening our culture as a team."

As for Paola, she said, "Dentsu has been my home for almost a decade and I am proud to have grown along with the transformation of the group." She said she is very happy to be back in Latin America, "especially in Mexico, one of the most attractive and expanding markets for the marketing and communication industry."

She commented on the changes in the media sector in recent years and how dentsu has maintained significant progress, putting customers at the centre. "I am committed to strengthening the media offering in the market, introducing new products and solutions for our clients that help grow their businesses while having a positive impact on society. I want to also continue to strengthen our culture at dentsu, hand in hand with the great team that has welcomed me, and continue to embrace the best talent, who must always be at the centre of everything we do."

Maximo's appointment shows dentsu's intentions to bet on the Mexican market, which has seen the appointment of several important industry leaders and voices strengthening its brand and business proposition, as well as different clients and recognitions won at market, regional and global levels.
