Oskar Illustration Signs Kateryna Gorbenko
Oskar illustration has announced the latest artist to join their creative cohort - Ukrainian illustrator Kateryna Gorbenko.
Starting her creative practice as an artist working in the classic methods of paper, pencils, and watercolour painting, Kateryna has dedicated the past few years mastering her digital illustrations.
Her work can be recognised for its expressive line drawing technique, combining abstract lines with detailed objects or shapes. Loose and free but also precise, her work is fresh, exciting and distinctive. Constantly seeking new mediums and techniques, she loves to experiment with digital formats and explore ways to bring her work to life with animation.
Oskar illustration project director Sarah commented, “Kateryna’s work stood out in a big way. We found the sense of freedom, expression and movement in her work exciting and unique. It has us instantly thinking about all the different ways it could be applied to client projects and in addition to her impressive body of work, we found her to have a great attitude and work ethic. We look forward making brilliant work together”.
Kateryna has invaluable experience under her belt, having worked as a designer and illustrator both in house and within an advertising agency. What’s more, her client list is both extensive and impressive for such a young artist. Working with the likes of Nike, Vogue Czechoslovakia, L’Officiel Ukraine, L’Officiel Hommes, Milk X Magazine, Havana Club, and much more.
Kateryna is a winner of FIDA Worldwide Awards 2023 in category ‘Culture vulture’ and the finalist of Harper's Bazaar Ukraine Fashion Forward contest in 2017. In 2024, FIDA Worldwide included her in their top 100 fashion illustrators in the industry.
