Tiny Inventions, the animation directing duo from Baltimore, USA, have signed to 1stAveMachine in London for UK representation. Comprising of Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata, they have been collaborating for over a decade on short films, TV commercials and music videos.
Their reel and style of work shows a compelling handling of stop-frame animation, bringing a heartfelt charm and emotion to their unique approach to storytelling.
Their fourth short film, Negative Space, has been nominated for Best Animated Short Film at this year’s 90th Academy Awards. Based on a 150-word poem by Ron Koertge, it’s a short, animated film that depicts a father-and-son relationship through the art of packing a suitcase. It has won 52 major awards and been played in over 137 festivals around the world.
Ru Kuwahata, one half of Tiny Inventions said of the signing: “There’s a real sense of joy that comes through in everything that 1stAveMachine does and we’re excited to see where this collaboration will take us.”
