Studio includes digital art installation exhibiting thoughtfully curated digital art pieces that will be renewed monthly

Art direction studio Onesal has announced the opening of its new office in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo’s most hip and artsy neighbourhood. This new location will help to expand the working network and production capabilities as well as serve as a window to show off what they do at the studio, as they will also open an art exhibition space.

As a natural step for the studio’s expansion and growth, their thriving team also needed more space. Along with a bigger office, a more modern and comfortable workspace experience has been set. Refurbished within an open-concept office on the upper floor, a common area, and a meeting room on the first floor, the new workplace welcomes employees as well as guests. Sunlight’s warmth fills the building through the huge windows in both flats, enhancing the minimal and relaxed design, furnished with iron-wooden industrial-like desks and neutral palette armchairs here and there. On the ground floor, the studio’s has launched a digital art installation exhibiting thoughtfully curated digital art pieces that will be renewed monthly for the sightseer’s delight.

Shimokitazawa lies just to the west of Tokyo, the big metropolis where the past meets the future. Celebrated for its particular mixture of both the modern and traditional aspects of Japan’s history, it’s common to come across wooden temples in between large glass buildings. With plenty of theaters, galleries, live houses, craft coffee shops, izakaya bars, and food options from all around the globe, Shimokita has turned into a must go-place in Tokyo. It is also well known for the unique fashion style of the city's resident bohemia and alternative youth culture filling the room with fresh vibes.

Head of production at the studio, Ailin Brunner, comments: “Shimokita is a growing and vibrant neighbourhood. Likewise, we are always thinking of expanding beyond ourselves, so it felt like an instant match. We’ll now have a kind of site-specific art piece that can be seen through this huge window at the front. People from outside the motion design world can now know about us just by passing by. We’re pretty eager to see what this new phase brings along.”
