One Does Not Simply Fly Air NZ... Taika Waititi's Epic Safety Video

Curious Films' Taika Waititi is the director behind what is truly ‘The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made’, created for Air New Zealand.

The video features actors Elijah Wood, Sylvester McCoy and Dean O’Gorman alongside director Peter Jackson and Waititi, who also appears in the film as a bearded wizard after two die-hard Hobbit fans find themselves sitting next to Elijah Wood on an Air New Zealand flight to Middle Earth.

The film – produced by Curious in New Zealand – also celebrates the third and final film in The Hobbit Trilogy: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Waititi is a writer, director and actor whose second feature film, Boy, is New Zealand’s highest grossing local film of all time. Commercially, Taika’s best-known work is the Pot Noodle campaign from Mother London. 

He was recently the winner of a Gold Lion for ‘Blazed’ and launched his third feature film, What We Do in the Shadows, about a group of vampires who live together in Wellington, New Zealand.
