Network reveals Cannes presence

Omnicom Group has announced its presence at the 60th Cannes  Lions International Festival of Creativity, to be held June 16 to 22 in Cannes, France.

Omnicom Agencies will lead a number of seminars, host workshops, teach Master Classes,  and showcase innovations and award-winning campaigns, as well as support the next  generation of talent by sponsoring the Cannes Young Lions Marketers competition.

Below are some of the highlights:
• BBDO: “'Hemingway, Dickens, and Michelango: The Best Agency Ever?” Speakers:  Andrew Robertson and David Lubars, Monday, June 17, 2-2:45 pm. “How to Reach a  Billion Eyeballs: Guess who is doing the best storytelling,” hosted by Chris Thomas,  BBDO/Proximity China with Pepsi and Volkswagen clients. Tuesday, 4-4:45 pm, June  18. Debussy Theater, Palais.

• OMC: “Sorry Your Brand Doesn’t Speak to Me,” Women’s Leadership Panel Event  with AOL,BBDO, DDB, PHD, Omnicom Media Group, TBWA, Monday, June 17, 4-5  pm, Majestic Hotel, AOL Penthouse Suite.

• PHD: As part of the official Cannes Lions app, PHD powers the festival’s first ever  MMO, massively multiplayer online game, for the chance to “Win Cannes.” PHD will  explore gamification in more detail with guest speaker Jane McGonigal, game designer  and author, and Mark Holden, PHD, June 18, 3 pm, Debussy Theater, Palais. 

• Cannes China Day: ‘Becoming Chinese – The Only Way to Succeed in China” panel  discussion as part of China Day. Moderator Serge Dumont, OMC, with BBDO China,  DDB Shanghai, TBWA, and Omnicom Media Group. 10:50 – 11:20 am, Tuesday, June  18, Esterel Theater, Level 5, Palais.

• DDB: Will teach a Cannes Master Class: “McDonald’s: Our Food, Your Questions” with  the CMO McDonalds Canada and Tribal Toronto’s Andrew McCartney, at the Young  Lions Zone, Palais. Keith Reinhard, DDB’s Chairman Emeritus will be speaking at The  Berlin School of Creative Leadership on Weds, June 19. In addition, Matt Eastwood,  DDB New York’s CCO, will present “Passion Trumps Talent” on Thurs, June 20, and Amir Kassei, DDB Worldwide’s CCO, will share the 7 things you should do to have a  great and successful life in advertising, 12-2 pm, Friday, June 21.

• TBWA: Lion of St. Mark will be awarded to Lee Clow, an advertising legend. He will  take the center stage with George Lois, 10-10:45, Friday, June 21, Grand Audi, Palais.

• LatinWorks: “Building The Underdog: Building an Identity Through Creativity,”  explores how small markets compete with the giants, 2-2:45 pm Saturday, June 22,  Debussy Theater, Palais.

• Ketchum: Sponsoring the Young Lions Marketers Competition for the third consecutive year.
