Ogilvy Malaysia has appointed Sulin Lau as the new Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and OgilvyOne, the first time the agency has combined leadership of both units.
Sulin was most recently Head of Marketing Services at DiGi Telecommunications where she oversaw the brand, communications, ecommerce and CX management. Sulin also brings to her new role 10 years in brand planning, leading strategy teams in Malaysia and regionally across Asia-Pacific.
As Managing Director for both Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and OgilvyOne, Sulin is tasked with integrating digital, data analytics, social and e-Commerce capabilities into Ogilvy’s core advertising offerings. While both companies will continue to operate as two distinct units, this joint leadership role also allows the agency to better respond to a brand’s changing needs and new emerging opportunities by harnessing more effectively the natural synergies in talent, technology, knowledge and tools.
Anand Badami, Country Head, Ogilvy Malaysia said: “A new wired generation of customers demand a different kind of agency. More than 60 per cent of Malaysians’ media time is now spent on digital, mobile and social channels so we’re excited for Sulin to come on board to help clients unlock the immense potential of digitization to drive real-time, data-driven, need-specific brand relationships with customers. The creation of this new joint leadership role also signifies the importance of addressing fragmented consumer attentions with more seamless integration between core brand strategy and multichannel delivery.”
