Octagon today announced the addition of Camille Buxeda as director of Women’s basketball. In the role, Camille will lead Octagon’s women’s basketball division, including oversight of new signings, as well as marketing and strategic initiatives for WNBA and NCAA clients.

Camille joins Octagon’s industry-leading basketball division, which represents a comprehensive collection of the most high-profile players in the game.

“Camille’s experience working with the biggest stars across the WNBA and NCAA, her reputation and relationships throughout the game, and her expertise marketing and magnifying women’s basketball make her the perfect addition to lead our women’s basketball practice,” said Alex Saratsis, co-managing director, Octagon Basketball. “She will be a major asset to our division, and as Camille has done throughout her career, she’ll help take women’s basketball and our clients to new levels.”

“Octagon is known throughout the industry as a long-standing champion for driving the growth of women’s sports, and representing many of the biggest names in basketball,” said Camille. “I’m proud to join this incredible team and leverage my vast knowledge in storytelling as well as long-standing passion for women’s basketball. Developing creative and valuable opportunities for our clients is something I’m very much looking forward to leading.”

Prior to joining Octagon, Camille founded and served as the director of WSLAM, SLAM’s iconic women’s basketball focused platform. During her tenure at the preeminent basketball publication, Camille produced more than 15 magazine covers featuring WNBA and NCAA athletes, helped grow WSLAM’s social following to over 350,000 across platforms, and managed the creation of WSLAM’s first-ever print magazine, holistically dedicated to women’s basketball. Previously, Camille helped lead social and digital content efforts at the WNBA. In 2021, Camille was named to Forbes’ prestigious list of “30 Under 30 in Sports,” and was a part of the inaugural Hashtag Sports Creators of Color class.

Octagon’s long and proud history in basketball spans more than 30 years. During that time, the agency has consistently remained at the forefront of sports marketing, while representing some of the biggest names in the game, including four-time NBA Finals Champion and two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, NBA Finals Champion and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as National Basketball Hall of Famers Nancy Lieberman, Moses Malone, and David Robinson.

For nearly four decades, Octagon has been a champion for women in sports. From representing more than 100 of the most high-profile women athletes and personalities across the industry – including four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, NWSL star Trinity Rodman, and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Lieberman – to partnering with Amazon to create the ground-breaking Thursday Night Football streaming package featuring the first-ever female announcing team of Emmy Award-winning sports commentators Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm, to working with some of the largest Fortune 500 brands in the world to further their sponsorship dollars and media investments in leagues, teams, and athletes, Octagon has remained committed to changing the game and creating further equality on the field, sidelines, broadcast booths, front offices, and boardrooms everywhere.
