Leading creative post-production house Nomad is growing its UK sound team, officially welcoming sound engineer Nick Olsouzidis to the roster. Previously working with Nomad as a freelancer, the sound designer and music composer joins Andy Humphreys to grow the audio department and shape Nomad's sound and music services.
“Nick is the perfect addition to the team, “ says Nomad’s head of sound design, Andy Humphreys. “His work is top-notch, and his enthusiasm is infectious. He's always a pleasure to be around and has the best accent in the business!”
Nick started his career as a musician, earning a degree in Music Technology and a Master’s in sound design for film and TV. Eventually, his love for film and television brought him to post production, where he began working as a runner at Envy Post and later as an audio assistant at Smoke and Mirrors. Once Smoke and Mirrors partnered with Big Buoy, Nick played a key role in expanding their sound design and music composition services. Through it all, his love for film has been at the heart of his work.
Blending his musical background with his obsession for sound design, Nick’s work is versatile and beautifully crafted. He’s worked as a sound designer on campaigns for major brands like Adidas, Sephora, Strongbow, Lego, Red Bull, Coors Light, and British Gas, to name a few. On the composition side, his music has been used in ads for Rolls-Royce, Lexus, Amnesty International, Nike, and many more.
“It was always a pleasure working with Andy at Nomad while I was freelancing,” remarks Nick Olsouzidis. “I’d been following his work for years and reached out to him, which is how I was introduced to their amazing team in London. They have a great culture and an inspiring roster of talent. I am incredibly excited to be brought in as a sound designer and composer, and I look forward to continuing our collaborative relationship in new, different ways this year.” I am confident we will grow our sound and music department into a thriving complement to Nomad’s excellent editorial services.
“Nick’s sound work is incredible on its own, but when paired with film composition, it takes on a whole new life,” says Liv Lawton, partner and managing director at Nomad London. “He’s a fantastic collaborator and an amazing addition to our London team. Building our sound department with Nick and Andy leading the charge is something we’re really excited about.”
