No.8, the Soho-based creative audio, colour and VFX studio, has continued its growth into the new year with the addition of three new team members.
Vicky McIntyre joins No.8 as a VFX artist – Vicky spent the first eight years of her VFX career at The Mill & Black Kite. Vicky’s role is as a generalist TD as well as specialising in CFX and Groom, she’s also worked as a CGI lead on various projects.
Vicky said, “After working with so many talented and wonderful people over the years, I’m extra excited to meet the next bunch at No.8! I hope we’re going to create some brilliant work and have fun whilst doing it.”
Ben Blundell, CD of CGI added, “I’m delighted to add Vicky to the CG team at No.8. Whilst the industry is ever changing, one thing that is still priceless is working with artists with a fantastic creative eye. Combine that with the skillset to execute beautiful visuals and you are on to a winner. I have no doubt Vicky brings both and she will be a huge success.”
Gavin Marler joins No.8 as a flame finishing artist – Gavin previously spent 11 years at The Mill in London including a two-year stint at the Mill LA.
Gavin said, “I'm extremely happy to be joining number 8 and there highly creative team, and really looking forward to getting involved with some of the cool projects that they are working on now.”
Jim Allen, CD of VFX added, “With an increasing array of deliverable formats on every project, Gavin’s skills are a very welcome addition to our team. He's also a thoroughly lovely chap and we are chuffed to have him join us at No.8.”
No.8 welcomes back Toby O’Connell as a junior flame artist. Toby spent the last few years in flame, starting as a trainee flame op at Absolute before becoming a junior flame artist at ELMNTL. No.8 are thrilled that he’s come back home.
Toby said, “I’m elated to be re-joining the lovely team at No.8. Obviously having worked here before I’ve kept a keen eye on what they’ve been doing and been blown away by the beautiful work and the calibre of people they’ve been employing. I’m massively looking forward to contributing to the team and look forward to putting what I’ve learned in to effect on all the exciting projects they have lined up.”
