Carlsberg, the internationally renowned Danish brewing company, is launching the next instalment of its ongoing series of films to revitalise the famous “If Carlsberg did” meme. Created by 72andSunny Amsterdam, the creative draws on the beer brand’s celebrated sense of humour to reinvigorate the haircut experience, often characterised by long queues, hollow small talk and long minutes of staring at your own face in the mirror.
The ‘If Carlsberg did Haircuts’ film showcases the brand’s commitment to delivering the finest quality in everything it does, creating the perfect haircut scenario filtered through Carlsberg’s witty point-of-view. Offering a haircut scenario that is probably the best in the world, Carlsberg creates a fantasy where mirrors are replaced with epic Scandinavian fjords, ninja-precision razor cuts and a barbershop quartet serenading customers on entry.
The 72 second film will also run in 30 and 40 second versions, along with five and 10 second social edits, and will launch online and across local TV stations in the UK and Sweden before rolling out to other international markets.
Housed on Carlsberg’s YouTube channel, the film forms part of an ongoing series of short films, with more to follow over the summer.
Mikkel Pilemand, VP Carlsberg brand says: "Personally I've always dreamed of getting my hair cut with a freshly served Carlsberg beer instead of a lukewarm coffee. Men around the world want a better haircut experience, whether that's a stylist in Stockholm or a barber in Bangkok."
Nic Owen, Managing Director, 72andSunny Amsterdam says: “Sharply styled dogs, hair reviving clippers, a pumped up barbershop quartet and a refreshing pint with your short back and sides. If only Carlsberg did do haircuts.”
