Netflix's hit original series Sex Education had the highest performing soundtrack to start off the new year, landing three songs in the top ten TV songs for January 2019, with the first season's soundtrack featuring songs from artists including Al Green, Muddy Waters and Billy Ocean.

The British comedy-drama stars Asa Butterfield as an awkward teen named Otis with a sex therapist for a mum (played by Gillian Anderson). The series sees Otis team up with savvy tough girl Maeve (Emma Mackey) to run a secret sex clinic for their fellow students.

The soundtrack features a number of tracks from artist Ezra Furman, including many previously unreleased songs, plus a number of covers and original tracks written specifically for the show. Other soundtrack artists include Beth Ditto, The Smiths, Chip Taylor, Ann Peebles, Bikini Kill and many more.

Air-Edel’s Matt Biffa and Ciara Elwis were music supervisors for the series which has just been commissioned for a second series.
