MullenLowe Group Philippines is launching the 2019 MullenLowe NOVA Awards Manila and invite the country’s most talented artists in the fields of art, design, fashion and photography to submit their entries.
The MullenLowe NOVA Awards Manila engage Filipino visionaries and industry leaders with the goal of supporting emerging talent, creative excellence and innovation. This arts and culture program is focused on supporting ‘challenger thinking’ and giving artists a platform for recognition and opportunity to extend their thinking beyond the educational environment.
From a shortlist of 10 artists, six prizes will be given out: the Grand Prize, two Runners-Up and the YourNOVA ‘People’s Choice’ Award. These awards will be presented to artists who demonstrate surprising lateral thinking and whose work stretches creative ability to its limits with an emphasis on craft, skill, and exceptional accomplishment in their respective fields.
The Grand Prize recipient will receive a short-course scholarship supported by leading art, design and performance college, Central Saint Martins, University of Arts in London. Special prizes will be awarded by our partners: The Unilever #Unstereotype Award, and The Meralco Spark Prize, given by the Meralco Foundation. The Unilever #Unstereotype Award recognises inclusive, forward-thinking creative work that breaks away from limiting and outdated stereotypical gender portrayals. The Meralco Spark Prize, to be bestowed by Meralco President and CEO Ray Espinosa, will be awarded to work that sparks creativity, innovation and embodies the company’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. The judging panel consists of icons in the Filipino world of art, design, fashion and photography, including Kenneth Cobonpue, Leeroy New, Len Cabili, Mark Nicdao, and JC Buendia.
