Monks and 100Weeks Celebrate the Power of Self-Sufficiency with Powerful Women of Rwanda Film

Supporting 100Weeks’ mission to help women out of poverty within 100 weeks with a weekly donation of $8, Monks and the charity launch the newest film WOMEN OF RWANDA. Sharing a look into the daily lives of Epiphanie, Claudine and Madeleine, we see the opportunity these women took to empower themselves and use the money to start small businesses, help their families and build better futures.

In the film, we are witness to these women’s daily lives, and see their true experiences, and their journey to self-sufficiency. We get a look into their communities and their hopes for the future - combining footage from their lives with a distinctive illustration style.

Many women around the world still need this kind of opportunity and it’s been great to support 100Weeks’ mission with this film.” 

The charity 100Weeks provides women with a weekly fund of just $8 for 100 weeks to move out of extreme poverty. For their International Women’s Day campaign, 100Weeks asks the question ‘What would she decide?’, highlighting the facts why this simple approach and giving directly to women works: women put most of their money back into their families, children attend school more regularly, women grow successful small businesses and communities become stronger when women have resources. No complex systems. No middlemen. Just direct support that works. The women did the rest themselves - making smart choices with the freedom to decide what matters most.
