M.I.A. Shares a Profound Message of Peace and Renewal in ‘Marigold’ Music Video

Academy and GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and activist M.I.A. has released the official music video for her song Marigold, officially closing the chapter of her 6th studio album MATA. Directed by Quentin Deronzier, the video comes with news that M.I.A. is working on new music set to be released next year.

"The work is done. Here is where I left off, the last song on the last LP. MATA is over.” M.I.A. explained. Teasing a new project for 2025, she shared, “It’s time for the Armor, OHMNI is ON."

Quentin Deronzier shared, “Marigold reflects the current state of the world, where even the most shocking events are met with indifference, gradually normalizing violence and disasters. Against this backdrop, MIA moves from one scene to the next, like a vessel of hope, carrying a profound message of peace and renewal.”
