New York, NY – MEC, a leading global media agency, today announces its sponsorship of the inaugural Talent Track at Advertising Week XII, the premier gathering of marketing and communications leaders in New York City on September 28th to October 2nd.
Kicking-off the 12th annual event on Monday September 28th, the newly launched Talent Track aims to elevate the conversation around talent innovation and engagement. The full day symposium will spotlight industry leaders and high-profile experts as they share best practices for identifying, attracting, nurturing and retaining talent drawing from the experiences of diverse business and pop culture communities.
Commenting on the agency’s participation, Marie-Claire Barker, Global Chief Talent Officer, MEC said, “Talent is the lifeblood of our success, yet as an industry we are not renowned for innovating in the area of talent management. Just as we innovate for clients, we must move beyond conventional wisdom to uncover, nurture and retain our best talent. MEC is thrilled to lead the conversation on talent innovation and bring to the forefront these differing viewpoints to shift rhetoric and evolve the traditional employee models.”
Matt Scheckner, CEO of Advertising Week added, “Kudos to MEC for taking the lead on tackling the critical issue of talent and weaving in both conventional and out of the box thought leaders. We look forward to its impact on the future of talent.”
As part of the program, Marie-Claire Barker, will host a session entitled, “What’s the Business Case for Well-being in the Workplace?” at 12PM in the Hard Rock Café. With well-being and mindfulness becoming integral to employee engagement and thriving organizational cultures, MEC seeks to explore how investing in this new frontier of talent innovation is exceeding expectations, motivating employees and shifting cultures across diverse industries.
MEC will also be hosting “Thriving in a Time of Disruption” on Tuesday, September 29th at 1:00PM in B.B. King’s Blues Club & Grill. Moderated by Marla Kaplowitz, CEO, MEC North America, the audience will hear from companies that have survived modern day disruption and are rethinking the role of technology to reinvent the traditional workplace structure and approach, and how they are using the company’s core values, mission and culture to build strong and connected teams that deliver results.
