McCann Worldgroup Taiwan Announces Senior Leader Promotions

McCann Worldgroup Taiwan has announced the promotion of two senior executives to further the company’s commitment to being the best integrated Creative Agency in Taiwan. Stepping into new roles within the company, current MD Gary Chi and ECD Kevin Yang will serve as CEO and CCO of McCann Worldgroup Taiwan respectively. Both appointments are effective immediately.

In Gary's new role, he will continue to lead the Taiwan office, focusing on developing the depth of service offerings to meet client’s evolving demands by leveraging his wealth of experience with Taiwanese clients looking to grow in cross-border markets. Kevin Yang will be responsible for overseeing the entirety of the Taiwan operation’s creative output, talent, and profile in order to help drive integration and shape creative direction.

Gary joined McCann Taiwan in 2007 as EVP and was later promoted to MD in 2011. During his tenure as MD for McCann Worldgroup Taiwan, Gary has demonstrated his management leadership skills by integrating McCann, Harrison, MRM//McCann and Momentum to drive outstanding organic growth. As a result, McCann Worldgroup Taiwan won Campaign Asia’s Creative Agency of the Year in Taiwan in 2013, Best Digital Agency of the Year in 2014, and Agency of the Year in 2015. An active enthusiast in the advertising community, Gary also served as Chairman of the 2013 Taipei 4A Creative Award Committee and is currently Chairman of Taipei 4A.

Kevin Yang has served as Executive Creative Director of McCann since 2012. Over the past 4 years, Kevin helped McCann Taiwan win many local brands’ businesses including FamilyMart, YinLu, Panasonic & Tiger Beer. During his career, Yang has also worked with a wide variety of clients including Lexus, Toyota, Citibank, Sony Ericsson, Nescafe, Nissan, HP and Epson.

Gary and Kevin will work alongside Russ Josephs, who recently joined as Group Strategy Director in May. Together, they will build upon McCann’s existing creative and strategic standards for excellence, in order to expand opportunities for future success.
