Argentine actor, screenwriter and filmmaker joins the production company for representation, following his viral short film ‘PAPOTA’ for trap duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso

Production company Rebolucion has welcomed actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Martín Piroyansky to its roster. The signing follows a recent collaboration between Rebolucion and Martín on ‘PAPOTA’, a short film featuring Buenos Aires based music duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, which has amassed over 4.3 million views since its release.

‘PAPOTA’, which was produced by Rebolucion, was released following CA7RIEL and Paco’s now viral ‘Tiny Desk’ concert. The film is set directly after the concert, documenting the highs, lows and unexpected twists and turns of sudden fame in a way that both parodies and reflects on the music industry as it is today.

“Ferrán Echegaray, the creative director of the band, approached me with the idea of making a film about the moment the guys were experiencing, with this sudden fame after the ‘Tiny Desk’ concert,” said Martín. “So my first idea was to set it exactly after the ’Tiny Desk’ concert. First we thought of a tone similar to ‘The Office’, like a mockumentary – but it slowly evolved to a more plastic fiction.”

Martín has been involved in film and production since the age of 12, his acting career beginning in the soap opera ‘Campeones de la Vida’ in 1999. He went on to establish his name within Argentina’s film and TV industry starring in films such as ‘XXY’ (2007), ‘Mi primera boda’ (2011), and ‘Voley’ (2015), which he also directed.

On television, Martín has appeared in series including ‘Psiconautas’ (2016–2018) and ‘Porno y helado’ (2022–2024), which he also served as a creative and director on. His irreverent style and humour has positioned him as a key figure in Argentina’s indie film scene, and gained recognition at numerous award shows.

Martín’s directorial style and approach is shaped by his overarching philosophy, “the story is always first.” said Martín, “The thing that I love the most is creating universes with their own rules and aesthetics. I mainly do comedy but would love to do drama in the future. I think a lot about the characters. That's where my compass always is.”
