Mark Richardson has joined Petbarn as general manager, marketing, after 18 months as chief marketing and commercial officer at Marley Spoon.
At Marley Spoon, Mark's remit stretched across the titular brand, plus Dinnerly, Chefgood, and bezzie.
Before that, he was chief marketing officer at ALDI for six years. When he left at the end of 2022, he handed over the baton to Westpac's Jenny Melhuish. During his tenure at the supermarket brand, Mark launched the 'Good Different' platform, which won the brand Effective Advertiser of the Year at the Effies for three consecutive years.
At last night's Effies, ALDI won Effective Advertiser of the Year again, with its agency BMF crowned Effective Agency of the Year.
At Petbarn, Mark will work with the brand's agency Howatson+Co. In August, the agency launched the Puppy and Kitten Club for the pet brand.
“There are three universal truths that make the fabric of Petbarn unique," chief customer officer of Greencross Pet Wellness Company, Nicholas Adams, said.
"Firstly our employee engagement scores tell us that our team members love what they do, our NPS data shows us that pet parents love Petbarn and most of all we know that pets love coming to Petbarn. The Petbarn Puppy and Kitten Club gives pet parents everything they need from advice, rewards to savings – doubling down on our commitment.”
At last night's Effies, Howatson+Company took home a silver and a bronze for Petbarn's ‘PetWatch: Parasites aren’t out of sight – they’re on your doorstep’.
