Ocurens adds four more exciting, award-winning, world-class directors to its growing roster

Today, Ocurens, the award-winning Anglo-French production company, has announced that Marco Prestini, Rumi Kaul, Femi Oladigbolu and WAAAW have all joined its roster. These four exciting, world-class creative directors further cement Ocurens’ reputation as one of the “hottest” production companies to be associated with right now.

“We are only as good as the talent we have”, said Emmanuelle Le Chat, UK managing director of Ocurens. “Signing up Marco, Rumi, Femi and the guys at WAAAW is a huge deal for Ocurens as we continue to offer the best and most exciting directors to our clients. Not only do they each bring with them a wealth of experience, as well as a bucket-full of industry awards, but they join a growing team who all share our values to constantly innovate and deliver memorable content for our clients”.

Italian-born Marco Prestini is a true master of his craft, whose visionary work spans across music, fashion, luxury, and advertising. His distinctive style that combines sophisticated and beautiful VFX with a dynamic, character-driven approach to storytelling has already earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Cannes Silver Screen Award and a Best Music Video nomination at the Grammy Awards. Marco has worked with some of the world's most iconic brands, such as Adidas, BMW, Diesel, Golden Goose, Gucci, Hugo Boss, L’Oréal, Pepsi, Samsung, Uniqlo, Vogue Italia, and Zalando.

“I am really excited to be joining the team at Ocurens”, said Marco. “It is a company that has a real buzz about it right now and it is so refreshing to work with a team that supports and shares my desire to push creative boundaries, regardless of the client or the size and scope of the project”.

Joining both the UK and French markets as part of the Ocurens roster is Rumi Kaul. Originally from The Netherlands, Kaul has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. His short film “Kooi”, meaning “cage”, a moving portrait of boyhood and masculinity earned him accolades across Europe and made him one of the most sought after young directors around today. Now working across music, fashion, and commercials, Rumi has developed a renowned and distinctive creative voice that truly captures the human spirit, with an inventive method of storytelling and infectious contemporary spirit.

“Working with a team that challenges me creatively and intellectually is a major contributor for joining Ocurens”, said Rumi. “They are a production company who get approached to do a really diverse range of projects and this is testament to the reputation that they already have. I am really excited about helping them build on that”.

With their name coming from the phonetic writing of the French word for “wow”, the director duo known as WAAAW understand how to create films with maximum impact. Funny or serious, intense or relaxed, they can handle multiple genres and have experience working for brands such as Swatch, Cardo, Spotify and LinkedIn. Made up of a commercial director and VFX Artist, the duo will be joining both the UK and French markets as part of the Ocurens roster.

WAAAW commented, “for us, we are driven by the opportunity to be challenged both creatively and intellectually, and given the type of projects that Ocurens works on and its growing reputation across the UK and France, it seemed like an obvious home for us”.

Joining the Ocurens Paris team is Femi Oladigbolu, an accomplished director of Nigerian heritage. Femi’s portfolio includes work with brands such as Balmain, Disney, Palace, and Intel, as well as directing music videos for renowned artists Stormzy, Jorja Smith, Chase and Status, and Ezra Collective. Femi has won a UK Music Video Award (UKMVA) for Best Hip-Hop Video with Pa Salieu's "My Family" as well as a number of other high profile accolades, including his latest short film, "Oba," being showcased at BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying international festivals.

“Working with Ocurens presents a real platform for me to showcase my talent and continue to deliver the type of work I love to create”, said Femi. “I am excited to work with Germain Robin (Ocurens Founder and Paris MD) and his team, who have built an exceptional reputation in the industry. I am looking forward to being part of the continued Ocurens success”.
