Today in Canada, one in four kids are dealing with food insecurity. Parents across the nation often have to make sacrifices to ensure their kids are eating tasty – and healthy – meals. And for parents with picky eaters, this problem can become an even more daunting challenge. But kids deserve to eat like… a kid! And that means ensuring that each and every child has access to nutritious, healthy, tasty food.
This was the main insight Public Inc. used to develop its latest spot for Maple Leaf Foods, to both educate families about the issue of food insecurity in Canada as well as highlight the work Maple Leaf Foods is doing through The Centre to help reduce the problem by 50% by the year 2030.
"When we launched The Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security eight years ago, we set the target of reducing food insecurity in Canada by 50% by 2030. Currently, Canada is experiencing the highest rate of food insecurity in our history. Our goal for this campaign, alongside the long-term advocacy work and investments we're making to reduce food security, is raising more awareness of the issue and driving action in our communities." said Sarah Stern, executive director, Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security.
“The work of the Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security and Maple Leaf Foods to combat food insecurity in Canada is a testament to their long-standing commitment and action on the issue. We have been honoured to be there from the start as it aligns so well with our mandate to accelerate change in the world.", says Phil Haid, CEO of Public Inc.
