As a key driver of Universal Pictures' spellbinding marketing campaign for 'Wicked', Lexus has teamed up with Publicis agency Team One to create a 'making of' featurette for the magical musical.
'The Wizard Behind Wicked' takes viewers into Oz with the film's director, Jon M. Chu, who showcases some of the film's props, and discusses the wizardry behind bringing the story of Glinda and Elphaba to the big screen. Jon also offers an inspiring perspective on the cultural and personal significance that this tentpole entertainment event has.
Lexus' 360-degree marketing campaign around 'Wicked' has also involved character-themed wrapped vehicles inspired by the iconic witches of Oz and a co-branded, 30-second custom spot featuring the 2024 Lexus TX.
This spot invites drivers to "Experience OZmazing", showing thrilling scenes from the movie - starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda - alongside shots of the Lexus TX. Tying it all together is the musical's iconic song, 'Defying Gravity', being played on the vehicle’s Lexus Interface.
