Today, Emma Montgomery was named Chief Strategy Officer of Leo Burnett Chicago. She continues her journey from Leo Burnett Sydney, where she led communications planning and brand strategy, and helped develop and lead an innovative, cross-functional approach to creative problem solving.
"Emma has the unique ability to think from brand, media, digital and social points of view as needed, and to use those perspectives to provide actionable counsel for her clients," said Brent Nelsen, Leo Burnett North America Chief Strategy Officer. "Emma inherently envisions brands within the context of today's on-demand society and has deep expertise in cross-channel communications."
Montgomery will help lead Leo Burnett in part by working with The Core, the agency's newly launched data and analytics offering, to unlock insights that will fuel creativity.
"Leo Burnett is a world-class creative agency," said Montgomery. "And creativity has never been more important as a problem-solving tool. As the relationship between people and brands becomes increasingly dynamic, how we design and deliver our creative solutions must be able to adapt accordingly. I look forward to pairing my expertise in brand experience design with our strategic and creative talent to initiate effective, integrated solutions that build brands and transform businesses."
Montgomery will report to Andrew Swinand, Leo Burnett North America CEO, and join the agency's leadership.
"Emma brings a global perspective and unique multichannel media expertise to the position. She has a keen understanding of how brands can thrive at the intersection of data, technology and creativity, and has done extensive communications planning on global and national scales," said Swinand. "Emma's diversity of experience and knowledge, coupled with her leadership, make her an outstanding fit for this role."
