LBB’s Big German Adventure

Auf weidersehen Addison Capper. LBB’s deputy editor has upped sticks from the UK and headed over to Berlin – we can’t say we blame him, the German city is the Europe’s capital of cool and the allure of good beer, hardcore techno and creativity is a hard one to resist. But before you get too distraught, fear not, Addison is still part of the LBB family. We’re already missing the bespectacled burger fiend’s presence in our London office but we’re pretty psyched for the German ad industry who will be spending lots of quality time with our very own Rad. (Here he is below, actually in New York but with novelty beer in hand.)

The German ad industry is undergoing a rapid evolution, with local indies feeling the pull of the international market and merging with global networks. Berlin is attracting creative talent from all over the globe and the industry’s powerhouse cities Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich are making their mark. So we figured, what better time to head over to Deutschland?

On a personal level, Addison’s move has played havoc with my sleep pattern. I’m all cold sweats and grinding teeth – how on earth am I going to cope without my brilliant right hand dude sitting across from me? But my loss is Germany’s gain – Addison’s mission is to dig out, showcase and support the most exciting creative work and talent the country has to offer.

And for non-Germans who have grown accustomed to their friendly correspondence, Addison’s still going to be covering exciting international work. He’s still around and still wants to hear from you!

Next week you’ll get to hear from the man himself and, if you’re attending next Thursday’s BBDO Regielounge, you might even bump into him. If so, say ‘hallo’ from us!

Although based in Berlin, Addison will be travelling frequently to all of Germany advertising hubs over the coming months.
