Jill Nykoliation steps down as Juniper Park\TBWA CEO and Eve Rémillard-Laroseis named TBWA\Group Canada CEO

TBWA\ has confirmed Juniper Park\TBWA, DDB Canada and Bolt Productions will align their operations under TBWA\Group Canada, with Eve Rémillard-Larose, DDB Canada’s chief executive officer, named CEO of the newly established TBWA\Group Canada, with immediate effect.

As part of the new structure, the respective agencies will maintain their current branding in the Canadian market.

TBWA\Worldwide CEO, Troy Ruhanen said, “By centralising the leadership of three strong agencies under Eve, we will continue to build on the respective agencies strong foundations to deliver a wider breadth of capability and scale for our clients.

“I’m excited by what this means for the agency. Eve brings a deep and diverse breadth of experience to the leadership position of the newly created TBWA\Group Canada, and under her leadership the Canadian operation is primed to thrive.”

Said Eve, “The decision to organize ourselves this way is bold and will ultimately strengthen our potential to offer integrated solutions that drive growth for our clients, our people, and our operations.”

This change comes as Jill Nykoliation, chief executive officer, who co-founded and built Juniper Park\TBWA to become the creative powerhouse in Canada it is today, announced her plans to step down after 16 years of notable success for the agency and its clients. Jill will serve in an advisory role to Eve until March 2023.

Jill, who recommended Eve as her successor, said: “I have had the wonderful fortune to work with Eve in our capacity as board members of the Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA); she shares our deep passion and ambition for delivering disruptive creative solutions for our clients. I’m both proud and excited for Eve to take the leadership reigns of the Group."

Continued Troy, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jill for over 10 years, and I’ve always admired her dedication and passion for our industry. Her ability to welcome and embrace change to drive growth has resulted in Juniper Park\TBWA being recognised as a powerhouse agency in Canada.

“We are grateful for what Jill has built for TBWA\ and her contributions to the industry in Canada. We thank her for her support and ongoing commitment to the agency.”

Over the last few months, the respective agencies have continued to prosper, with DDB adding key clients such as Grand & Toy, Italian Trade Commission, Westland Insurance, Montreal Holocaust Museum and Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation. While TBWA adds CBC, Sports Interaction, Henkel Sunlight, EQAO, Johnson & Johnson.

The agency also confirms the departure of Jenny Glover, chief creative officer, who has resigned from her role and will leave the agency in March. Jenny joined the Toronto based agency from sister agency TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris South Africa in 2018, and in June 2022 was named CCO.

On Jenny’s departure, Troy concluded, “We are sorry to see Jenny go. Jenny is an incredible creative leader and mentor to her peers.  She leaves with our support having had seven great years at the collective, and we thank her for her ongoing passion for Disruption, along with her continued contribution to the growth of our people, clients, and agency. We wish her the very best for her future.”

Said Eve “We’re fortunate the depth of the existing creative leadership allows for a seamless transition, and we are excited to announce group creative director, Neil Walker-Wells has accepted the role of executive creative director. Neil will partner with me to lead the creative department while we look for a new chief creative officer.”
