Jungleboys’ director Abe Forsythe will direct episodes of Mr and Mrs Murder, which follows Nicole and Charlie, a married couple who run an extreme cleaning business. Armed with wit, smarts and the invisibility that cleaning brings, the duo solve the crimes the cops can't in a murder mystery with a smile. Co-created by Executive Producers Shaun Micallef and Jason Stephens, the series will air on Channel Ten.
"I'm really excited to be working with Shaun as he was always one of my big inspirations in deciding to work in comedy." said Abe, of Micallef who is something of a force to be reckoned with in Australian comedy. Abe is a comedy performance director with a background as an actor, helping him to coax expert performances from his stars.
By age 20 he had already written, directed and starred in his first feature “Ned” which was released theatrically in Australia and in 2004 he won a Best Actor AFI for “Marking Time”. He has directed numerous films including “Shock” (the 2010 Tropfest winner) and “Being Carl Williams” (2009 Best Comedy at Tropfest). Abe has directed campaigns for Telstra, Master Card and the FFA while establishing strong relationships with agencies such as BMF and DDB.
Abe will be unavailable for commercials from mid-October to the end of November and the series is set to air early in 2013.
