From Jungle Entertainment's commercial stable, Trent O'Donnell, Cate Stewart and the Van Vuuren Brothers worked along side long form directors Amanda Brotchie and Kate McCartney to create comedy series Squinters, which the Sydney Morning Herald has called 'clever, unusual and enormously enjoyable television' and the West Australian says is 'a must-see Aussie comedy that will have you in stitches.'
Created by Adam Zwar with Jungle Entertainment director Trent O'Donnell, Squinters is a six part comedy series celebrating the great Aussie ritual that is the commute to work...into the sun... there and back. An all star ensemble cast is directed by a collection of some of Australia's finest comedy directors, a host of whom are on Jungle Entertainment's commercial roster.
Set almost entirely within the vehicles of the characters, the show stars Tim Minchin, Jacki Weaver and Sam Simmons among others. A unique production approach was taken, where director's helmed 'vehicles' rather that episodes, shooting all the scripted scenes in a studio, with the vehicle surrounded by exterior projections. The approach allowed the focus of the show to sit solely on the characters and their interactions and development.
