Managing creative director at Jung von Matt NECKAR on strategically integrating spatial experience pioneers Milla & Partner to boost its capacity for crafting immersive brand stories
The world of advertising is evolving, with brands increasingly-seeking to create impactful experiences that resonate across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms.

Recognising this shift, Jung von Matt has strategically-partnered with Milla & Partner, a leader in spatial storytelling and immersive design for over 35 years. This integration marks a transformative step in JvM’s mission to deliver holistic, boundary-breaking communication solutions and work at speed across mediums in-house.

Andreas Brunsch, managing creative director at Jung von Matt NECKAR, speaks with LBB’s Olivia Atkins about how this partnership is set to redefine the agency’s capabilities.

From a dedicated Spatial Experience Lab to collaborative structures that unite creative and technological expertise, Andreas explains how this move will meet the rising demand for experiential brand narratives while maintaining JvM's hallmark of surprising, high-quality work.

LBB> How does the integration of Milla & Partner shape the future direction of Jung von Matt and what are the long-term ambitions for the agency in the realm of spatial experiences?

Andreas> Our primary objective is to expand our product portfolio and elevate our reach on a global scale, enabling us to  provide our national and international clients with an extensive, fully-integrated spectrum of communication solutions.

Through this partnership, we can now fully address highly specialised client needs internally – needs that, as a traditional  communications agency, we previously met only through external collaborators. This integration allows us to deliver end-to-end solutions, elevating our capacity to serve the market's increasing demand for spatial expertise without limitations and with the highest level of proficiency. All while maintaining what Jung Von Matt has always been about:  delivering truly surprising creative work.

LBB> With Milla & Partner’s expertise in spatial storytelling and immersive design, what new possibilities will this bring to JvM’s portfolio, and how will this boost the scope and quality of client projects?

Andreas> With this partnership, we are now positioned to deliver the complete communication lifecycle from a single,  streamlined source, ensuring our rigorous quality standards are consistently upheld across all channels. Milla & Partner and Jung von Matt share a common driving force: momentum. By merging award-winning creativity, advanced technology, and specialised expertise in spatial experiences, we are delivering a truly distinctive offering  to the market.

LBB> How will the addition of a dedicated Spatial Experience Lab and Milla & Partner’s team impact day-to-day operations and resource allocation across the agency?

Andreas> At this stage, our focus is on fostering a deep mutual understanding through open, meaningful exchanges. Our aim is to cultivate a seamless, integrated approach – free from silos – that enables us to undertake projects with maximum efficiency and creativity.

We are committed to a collaborative environment where creatives, specialists,  and account managers engage as equal partners. By involving diverse experts from the outset, we ensure that each idea is thoroughly examined from multiple perspectives, allowing us to fully realise its potential and drive exceptional outcomes.

LBB> Given Milla & Partner’s history with innovative technologies, what role do you envision for tech advancements – such as AI, UX/UI, and immersive media – in shaping the future of spatial experiences for JvM clients?

Andreas> We see significant potential in this partnership, especially given that our subsidiary, Jung von Matt Neckar, brings deep expertise in AI, UX/UI, and immersive media – creating a truly synergistic match.

Where Milla & Partner previously depended on external resources, our in-house specialists can now step in seamlessly, and the reverse holds true. We are confident that this collaboration will allow us to further elevate and refine our digital capabilities. In essence, this is a case where one plus one equals three,  perfectly capturing the added value we anticipate from our combined strengths.

LBB> How will the Milla & Partner team collaborate with JvM’s existing creative and strategic units, and what collaborative structures or processes will help maximise this synergy?

Andreas> Milla & Partner, like every other unit, will be seamlessly integrated into Jung von Matt’s established processes. We utilise an in-house collaboration model that unites the necessary experts into a single, cohesive team tailored to  each project or client. This approach enables us to assemble the most qualified talent with the ideal skill sets to precisely meet specific project requirements, ensuring exceptional results through strategically-aligned expertise.

LBB> With Milla & Partner’s focus on multi-dimensional brand experiences, how will this acquisition support JvM’s approach to holistic brand management across digital, physical, and hybrid spaces?

Andreas> Milla & Partner and Jung von Matt share a core mission: to generate impactful momentum for brands and their audiences. Through this partnership, we are now able to approach this mission with a renewed and fully-integrated perspective,  offering unparalleled value to both existing and new clients.

By combining our strengths, we’re positioned to deliver innovative, seamless solutions that resonate deeply across all touchpoints. For clients eager to make a meaningful impact and drive change, this collaboration offers an exciting opportunity. Together, the advantages are clear and transformative.

LBB> As more brands seek immersive and hybrid experiences, how does the integration of Milla & Partner enable JvM to better meet these growing demands and support clients in creating impactful, story-driven brand spaces?

Andreas> We understand that groundbreaking, limitless creativity demands diverse perspectives and innovative thinking to set new standards. Through our partnership, we broaden each other’s horizons, opening doors to uncharted  possibilities. Together, we are ready to embark on this journey toward new frontiers. And of course, we extend an open invitation to our clients and anyone who is ready to embrace the future with us. Be part of this journey, step into these new possibilities, and let’s break new ground together. Join us in shaping what’s next!
