Bethany Maxfield directs the Humanaut campaign poking fun at 'sad beige meals'

kencko, the global brand behind freeze-dried fruit and veggie technology, partnered Humanaut to launching its first-ever ad spot combating sad beige meals (aka a lack of fruit + veggies).

In the spot, Julia Schroeder channels gym teacher energy and busts everyday 'fruit and vegetable emergencies'. The light-hearted creative uses humour to showcase that adding fruits + veggies into one’s diet doesn’t need to be serious - or hard. 

The campaign stars up-and-coming NYC improv comic Julia Schroeder as 'kencko woman': an upbeat, well-meaning first responder who pops up at all sorts of 'fruit and vegetable emergencies'. Think beige boardroom lunches, college vending machines, airport cafes, and pizza deliveries - wherever ordinary Americans find themselves in need, kencko woman is there. She delivers a freshly-mixed kencko smoothie along with a hopeful message: whenever you want to add 2.5 cups of real organic fruits and veggies to your daily routine, just grab a kencko smoothie, then 'pour, shake, and sip'. Although initially bemused, her reluctant customers are quickly won over by her relentless cheerfulness and her delicious fruit smoothies.
