The Hive opens a promising new phase in its continuing evolution with the hiring of highly regarded agency executive Josie Daga as the agency’s new leader and CEO.
Josie is a seasoned agency talent with broad experience in strategy, innovation and account leadership across multiple industries and business categories. She has worked at leading multinational and independent ad agencies and she also launched and managed her own small business enterprise.
Josie was most recently a global brand leader at Dentsu Creative in Toronto.
“At a time of shrinking budgets and in a fragmented landscape where people are exposed to as many as 10,000 commercial messages a day, the power of – and the need for – creativity has never been greater,” says Josie, adding, “Businesses need creativity’s exponential impact to win. It’s truly a competitive business weapon. And independent agencies in Canada are delivering some of the best creativity in the market right now.
“The Hive has incredible creative leadership, a strong culture and big ambitions. I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of what they are building,” says Josie.
Josie’s arrival coincides with a period of significant growth in creative talent and output at The Hive. The agency’s partners are confident that Josie’s vision and leadership will continue the momentum and take the company to new heights.
“Josie’s proven track record of building strong teams, fostering innovation and achieving remarkable results make her the ideal choice for this role,” says The Hive chairman Andy Krupski. “She is well-positioned to help us deliver on our communications concept of ‘valuable encounters’ with speed, flexibility and an openness to doing things differently.”
Adds Josie, “My intention is to capitalise on The Hive’s entrepreneurial roots. Entrepreneurs solve problems differently, and act with agility, adaptability and decisiveness. That’s exactly the kind of environment where I thrive.”
