Digitally-deep industry veteran Jeremy Whitt has joined independent agency Hanson Dodge (HD) in the new role of executive media director. At HD, Jeremy will become a member of the Leadership Team and have oversight of the agency’s growing in-house media practice. He was most recently SVP, media strategy at Milwaukee-based BVK.
“We expanded our in-house media practice immediately prior to covid when it became clear that more and more of our clients could benefit from media support for their marketing efforts,” said Stacie Boney, president of Hanson Dodge. “That decision proved to be fortuitous. Not only were we able to help our clients when they needed it most during the pandemic, but we were also awarded new media assignments from existing clients. Plus we landed new clients. Today, media accounts for nearly 25% of our agency revenue.”
She continued, “That’s where Jeremy comes in. We’re at a critical juncture where we need a proven leader to guide our growing media practice; someone with deep integrated media chops who embraces our culture of ‘making great leaps.’ Jeremy is just that. He brings more than 20 years’ agency experience working on businesses in categories that align with HD, ranging from travel and tourism to education, lifestyle, healthcare, CPG and BtoB, to name a few. His background as a media strategist has fully immersed him in the always-changing media landscape – digital, AI, connection planning, programmatic...helping clients stay on the leading edge. He relishes creativity and has a proven track record of working closely with creatives to come up with never-been-done collaborations. And as a member of our Leadership Team, Jeremy will bring a fresh perspective to help shape the future of our agency.”
At BVK, where Jeremy has worked for the past eight years, he directed agency connections strategy, built an internal programmatic trading desk and created integrated media partnerships, among other achievements. Key clients included the Tourism offices of Wyoming, West Virginia and Maine, Carmex, James Hardie, Prisma Health and Crunchmaster Crackers. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years at Cramer Krasselt, rising from media intern to become one of the youngest vice presidents in agency history. Directing media strategy for CK’s Milwaukee and Phoenix offices, with a focus on digital activation and innovation, engagement and SEM strategies, were among his agency contributions. Clients included Conagra, Johnsonville and BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products).
“As a fellow member of the Milwaukee agency community, I have admired Hanson Dodge from ‘not so far’ and been incredibly impressed with the quality of the work they do. Equally impressive is their entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative culture…not surprisingly, factors that have earned it recognition as a Best Place to Work. I am thrilled to be joining the Leadership team and look forward to helping HD take its own great leap,” said Jeremy.
He starts at HD this month.
Since its inception, HD’s media practice has expanded considerably, earning assignments from existing clients, like Creminelli Fine Foods and KEEN footwear, and contributing to the agency’s new business wins for NOW supplements and PurposeBuilt Brands’ Green Gobbler line of household products.
