Travel broadens the mind. With a love of exploring different cultures, Jamie Muir champions this philosophy with aplomb. Having already impressed the likes of Coca-Cola, Chevrolet and Lux with his unique aesthetic, SALT TV’s latest directing addition is certainly set to make a global impact in the coming future.
Raised on a diet of Fernando Meirelles, Walter Salles, Wes Anderson and Jim Jarmusch, Jamie quickly developed an insatiable appetite for sensibility within storytelling. A degree in cinematography provided the ideal platform to refine his ability to capture raw cinematic beauty, a principal approach to his work today.
Upon graduating, Jamie cut his teeth on charity and low-budget documentaries before gaining opportunities in branded content and commercial work. He quickly garnered a strong reputation for honest and heartfelt work, a reputation that was further reinforced with a series of awards from MoFilm competitions.
Drawing on his love of fine-art photography, Jamie encompasses a poetic style and a delicacy towards detail. The use of slow-motion photography, handheld filming and carefully selected sound design in his work establishes an engaging and emotive atmosphere. Looking forward, Jamie believes “brands are becoming more enthusiastic about innovative film-making avenues” and is eager to challenge these boundaries with his earnest and stylistic approach to storytelling.
