When Americans break for Memorial Day, they won’t only be thinking about barbecues and weekend getaways: we’ll be thinking about the individuals who’ve helped make this country great. A new Dr Pepper ad from Deutsch, /1 Americans, focuses on what makes Americans unique.
“We’re a one-of-a-kind people, always have been,” the ad says in a voiceover from actor Emile Hirsch. And then it goes to show the “wonderers and wanderers” who’ve shaped this country: Stars like Johnny Cash and Muhammad Ali to everyday soldiers, athletes and dreamers.
The ad calls to mind the American heritage of Dr Pepper, which has been one of a kind for almost 130 years. It’s directed by Keith Schofield, who also directed Deutsch's video hit “The Bark Side” for Volkswagen.
