ICONIC MAG, the bi-annual print title published by agency ICONIC, has won two awards at the International Creative Media Awards (ICMA) earlier this month.
The magazine, which published its second edition in February, picked up a Gold in the Lifestyle category and a Silver in Typography and Layout. It is the 15th year of the ICMAs, and it received more than 400 entries from across 21 countries.
Launched in 2023, ICONIC Magazine is inspired by the big print titles of the 1990s and is produced as a coffee table publication featuring interviews with influential emerging figures across music, art, fashion and sport.
Its first issue featured interviews with DJ and radio presenter Sarah Story, DJ and producer Suchi, James Brown, writer and editor of genre-defining ‘90s mag Loaded, and Paralympian, Walid Saleh. The second edition followed up with DJ Camden Cox as its cover star, alongside interviews with football Dru Yearwood, DJ Ell Murphy, boxer April Hunter, artist Keeya Keys and brands Do Not Subverge and Step By Steppers.
James Kirkham, co-founder of ICONIC, said, “Huge thanks to Ben Wrigglesworth, Chris Smith, all the contributors, as well as our incredible talent who brought our award-winning layouts and covers to life.
“ICONIC MAG is a shining showcase of the best of culture. It elevates talent and exposes them to brands, but it also taps into the resurgence of old media by offering readers something physical to touch and smell. It shows how much we all want and need these physical moments to counter our relentless scrolling.”
