Harry Kane’s Cleats Club Messaging App Launches to Connect Fans with Sports Stars

Cleats Club, a groundbreaking mobile-first platform offering unprecedented access to top athletes, has launched with England Men’s captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane as its first football star.

As the first athlete to join, Harry uses the messaging platform to share authentic moments with his fans through videos, voice notes, and text updates. 

The app is launching to serve fans seeking to connect directly with sports stars and athletes and to offer fans and stars a safe haven away from the division and toxicity that can be found on other social networks.

Cleats Club represents a paradigm shift in fan-athlete interaction, providing a unique space for genuine communication between sports stars and their most dedicated supporters. The app is designed to provide fans an authentic glimpse into the lives of their favourite athletes.

Key features of Cleats Club include, ‘Players' Lounge’ – offering the chance to have direct, unmoderated conversations with athletes. Also ‘The Terraces’ which features match-day chat rooms with cutting-edge AI predictions, as well as designated areas for access to player-curated merchandise.

The app is already being used by the press as a trusted news source. As Thomas Tuchel was announced as the new England manager last week, Cleats Club was one of the few sources to be quoted across sports media after Harry Kane shared his reaction to the news directly with his fans on the app.

Harry said, "It's obviously big news with Thomas being our New England coach. I think it’s a really great appointment. Obviously, I worked closely with him last season, and think he's a really top, top coach and also a great person. He'll bring a lot of energy to the squad and a lot of experience as well. So really looking forward to starting with him next year.”  

For brands, the app offers a unique opportunity where, for the first time, advertisers can have native brand integration into a messaging environment with proximity to AAA talent.

The app also marks a significant shift in data ownership within the sports industry. Tim Kalic, CTO, Cleats Club, explained, "For the first time, athletes like Harry have full control over their data and direct access to their fan base. It's a game-changer for personal branding and fan engagement."

Cleats Club has launched on iOS, with an Android release planned for later this month. The app is free for fans to join.
