Hungry Man Signs Director Rachel Carey to Its Roster

Hungry Man are excited to announce the signing of Rachel Carey to its directing roster.

After a decade-long career as an award-winning copywriter, Rachel Carey began her crossover into the film and TV space with a series of shorts, including the Screen Ireland-funded ‘Nice Night For It.’

Rachel’s debut feature film ‘Deadly Cuts’, a black comedy set in a working-class Dublin hair salon where the stylists become accidental vigilantes and community heroes, premiered at the closing gala of the 2021 Dublin International Film Festival, where she received the festival’s prestigious Discover Award. Deadly Cuts became the biggest Irish film of 2021, with the biggest opening for an Irish female director in 20 years. It went on to rank in first place on Netflix in Ireland, and received global release in 2022.

On joining Hungry Man, Rachel said, “As an ad creative, I was always a massive fan of Hungry Man’s work, so I’m beyond thrilled to now be joining what I consider the best in the business as a director. I look forward to adding lots of fun, exciting, and ground-breaking work to their already stellar reel.”
