Hungry Man has announced the signing of Alex Roberts, an acclaimed director celebrated for his comedic flair and distinctive visual storytelling. Alex joins Hungry Man’s roster for representation in the UK and US, while continuing to be represented by Finch in Australia and New Zealand.
Alex launched his career as an award-winning music video director and has since helmed over 80 campaigns for iconic brands such as Intel, Virgin, McDonald's, Air New Zealand, Hyundai, and Uber Eats. His work on Uber Eats's renowned "Tonight I’ll Be Eating" campaigns saw him collaborate with stars like Simon Cowell, The Wiggles, Paris Hilton, and the Irwins. Alex's ability to blend humor and heart has made him a sought-after director for campaigns that entertain and resonate.
In addition to his commercial success, Alex showcased his range as a filmmaker with El Metido, his debut documentary feature film, which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2020. The dark, gritty portrait of a man documenting crime in Guatemala City contrasts starkly with Alex's lighthearted commercial work, demonstrating his versatility as a storyteller.
When asked about joining Hungry Man, Alex said, “Thrilled, stoked, and tickled pink to join Hungry Man alongside directors I’ve long admired. Mum’s equally excited and already taking partial credit.”
Hungry Man managing partner Caleb Dewart added, “Alex’s comedic and cinematic instincts and the energy he brings to the creative process are a great fit for what we do at Hungry Man. We’re excited to help him with this next phase of his career as a filmmaker”.
