Sleep is a vital part of our lives, and without it, you negatively affect everyone around you (sometimes unbeknownst to you). While most mattress ads stress that you sleep for one-third of your life, you should sleep comfortably for that part of your life. Tempur-pedic, in their latest ad from Carmichael Lynch, flip that idea on its head, arguing that your sleep affects the other two-thirds of your life, and that you should factor that into the mattress you choose to sleep with.
In the new spot a sleepless mother is depicted as a literal “bear” by her kids. As she goes through traditional motherly activities (making breakfast, being overprotective on the soccer field, and grocery shopping) she’s embarrassing her kids by her lack of sleep. One day, after sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic, the bear is gone, replaced by a glowing, excited mother.
