When emergency veterinary care is needed, costs can quickly escalate, with over 21% of claims exceeding €750 and more than one in ten topping €1000. Such sudden expenses can leave pet owners struggling financially, with many turning to crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe to make ends meet.
To show why pet insurance matters, Forsman & Bodenfors Dublin and Allianz Ireland launched The Allianz Pet Project. On March 25th, 2025, Allianz sought out pet-related fundraisers on GoFundMe across Ireland and completed the remaining balance of as many remaining fundraising targets as possible, surprising the pet owners and instantly removing the stress of trying to find money while their pets urgently need care.
Following this once-off event, Allianz shared the heartfelt stories of relieved owners and their pets on social media, illustrating the stark contrast between the stress of crowdfunding during emergencies and the security of having pet insurance. Yes, the Allianz Pet Project lasted just one day, but the peace of mind offered by Allianz Pet Insurance can be with you and your pet every single day.
Mark Brennan, head of marketing at Allianz said, “The cost of veterinary care can be overwhelming, and many struggle to afford life-saving treatment for their pets. To show what an Allianz pet insurance policy could do to help in situations like these, we stepped in and completed GoFundMe targets all across Ireland”.
Damian Hanley, executive creative director at Forsman & Bodenfors Dublin’s said, “Allianz has been an incredible partner over the years, and this relationship has driven the ambition for work that is both innovative and effective. The Allianz Pet Project is another step on that journey and a testament to that shared ambition. We’re very proud to bring this idea to life.”
