As plant-based eating continues to grow in popularity across Canada, Hellmann’s is making this switch even easier for Canadians. The brand has updated its formerly Vegan Mayo label to Plant Based Mayo. The updated label reflects a broader target audience beyond vegans and vegetarians to include flexitarians and those curious about adding more plant-based options to their diets.
Perfect for spreading, marinating, or dipping, Hellmann’s Plant-Based Mayo is certified vegan, gluten-free, low in saturated fat, and free of artificial flavours. To prove that Hellmann’s Plant-Base Mayo is a perfect 1:1 swap that delivers the same great taste Canadians love, the brand also partnered with Michelin-recognized chef Matthew Ravenscroft to take their Plant-Based Mayo “undercover” in a fun and surprising taste test.
In a unique content series, Chef Matthew swapped labels on the mayo and challenged his non-vegan food industry friends, including Red Seal chef Dwight Smith, food influencer and “master of steak” Brandon Petrasso, and culinary producer Michelle Rabin, to create dishes using what they thought was regular mayo—only to reveal it was actually plant-based. The results? Even the most refined palates were fooled, proving that Hellmann’s Plant-Based Mayo is a 1:1 swap that delivers the same rich, creamy taste Canadians love.
