This year’s Inkwell Beach is sure to host some of the most preeminent and innovative conversations around DEI and its immeasurable value. Havas’ own Inkwell panel on Juneteenth (June 19) at 11am hones in on two critical issues today - obesity and mental health - and looks at how the advertising industry plays a role in these epidemics. It is the latest phase of Havas’ Welltainment initiative where Havas and its partners including the NAACP, CBS, The Springhill Company and more work to highlight health issues in underserved communities via entertainment properties to more effectively communicate the breadth of medical issues to consumers.
The ‘Black, brown, and still forgotten’ panel features leading voices from the NAACP, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Freedom to March NYC and Rutland Medical Group alongside Havas as they dive into how these two epidemics uniquely impact Black and Brown people globally. The panellists will look at health inequity, health equity gap in obesity and mental health and how seemingly banal things like your zip code are the biggest predictors of how long you live.
Why are the people in the most need left out of the health revolution and how can Welltainment℠ help?
In 2023 Havas launched Welltainment℠ to impact the health equity gap. This year, the conversation continues as we take on the gen-Z mental health crisis and the obesity epidemic — both of which are disproportionately shortening the lives of black and brown people globally.
