Grey is strengthening the role of creative leadership in its German studios by promoting Francisca Maass to president & CCO, effective immediately.
Francisca takes over the role of her previous management partner, Jan-Philipp Jahn, who has decided to leave the company to take on another professional challenge. Francisca will continue to grow the German studios supported by a robust and diverse leadership team composed of CFO & vice-president, Erwin Bakker; head of strategy, Michael Schneider; head of clients, Natalie Martens; ECD, Kerstin Correll; head of production, Judith Uhrlau; head of design, Patrick Reichert-Young; head of HR, Christine Haack; and COO Düsseldorf, Julius Moebius.
Since she joined back in 2019, Maass has worked very closely with newly appointed global CCO, Javier Campopiano and has also been a member of Grey’s global creative board. In her extended role, she will report to Nirvik Singh, Global COO and International President at Grey.
Nirvik said on Francisca’ promotion: "Francisca has fully embraced the leadership responsibility from day one, and she has managed the restructuring and growth of our German studios with admirable energy. She has been a great creative partner to our clients and has brought together a strong and diverse leadership team. I can't imagine a better match of creative talent and business expertise in one person, and I look forward to working together with Francisca."
With Erwin, Francisca has a partner at her side who, beyond the tasks of a chief financial officer, will also take on a strategic and operational role as vice-president. Francisca added: "The last 2.5 years partnering with JP have been great and I’m going to miss our partnership. We have achieved a lot for Grey Germany and I am thrilled that Erwin has agreed to partner with me to continue the journey with the help of our German and global teams."
As a company known for its Famously EffectiveT creative ideas that solve business problems, Grey has always encouraged CCOs to take on greater leadership roles, as last year’s promotion of UK CCO Laura Jordan Bambach to president & CCO can attest.
