Design specialists deliver recipe for brand success

Ming Foods, regarded as the leading brand in the manufacture and supply of quality Chinese pancakes, is launching a totally new website this week to reflect its premium position in the market – created by B2B design specialists Greenwich Design, leading a team of expert staff from amongst its sister companies in the Greenwich Group.  The agency’s objective has been to create a beautifully designed, easy-to-navigate site that will play an important role in attracting and retaining clients.

The new-look website is a significant move away from the brand’s previous functional website and is part of a wider aim to create a co-ordinated and consistent range of assets – including exhibition displays for international food and drink event, the IFE, and product sheets - which reflect Ming Foods’ professionalism and the company’s position as a British company leading the way in a specialist Chinese sector.  In combination these assets will create a powerful, consistent message that reflects how ‘together’ the business is.

As part of the project, Greenwich Design has immersed itself into the Ming Foods business, spending time with key stakeholders and visiting its stand at this year’s IFE in order to understand the company’s offer and aspirations.  The in-depth insight gained has led the approach to demonstrate Ming Foods’ premium position in the market using a fine balance of B2B sales information that is relevant to the brand’s core audience – restaurants, take away services and specialist ethnic supermarkets – combined with the softer characteristics of a consumer-facing website.

The website features engaging photography of the products being used in a variety of recipes plus recognisable iconic Chinese imagery, such as woven bamboo, as background to bring the website together.  To build on the brand’s personality and heritage it also gives much more space to company news and the people behind the business.

Sam Duong, CEO of Ming Foods, comments, “I have been really impressed with the Greenwich Design package and their ability to pull together a bespoke team of people who, together, were perfect for the job - from creative and technical staff through to copywriters.  They inspire total confidence in what they are doing and I’m extremely excited about the launch which is a pivotal moment in our company’s history.”

Simon Wright, Managing Director at Greenwich Design, adds, “It has been great to work with such a dynamic and astute local business as Ming Foods which understands the potential that comes from investing in quality communication assets – and there’s nothing more rewarding than providing a client with an asset that they are proud of and enjoy using.”

Dan Bramham was lead designer on the project at Greenwich Design.
