Great Guns represented director Mikko & Sauna International kick off Cannes Lions with GOLD for Fragile Childhood & launch their World Cup spot for Coca-Cola for Ogilvy Africa through Boomtown Films.
First up Great Guns would like to congratulate director Mikko for picking up Sauna International’s first GOLD Lion award for his spot for Fragile Childhood.
“When I got the script I knew that it would make some noise. But I'm a bit stunned and overwhelmed that it became so huge. A PSA from Finland makes news all over the world from Australia to Peru. CNN News showed the whole ad and talked further 5 minutes of it with a live interview from Finland. Who would have guessed that? One Saturday evening I was laying on my couch watching TV and suddenly it came out of BBC3”, comments Mikko.
With the World Cup under way Great Guns represented director Mikko also delivers his WC spot for Coca-Cola, through Sauna@Boomtown Films for Ogilvy Africa. Entitled "What Kind of Fan Are You", it portrays a range of archetypal fans in states of jubilation, rage, worry and hysteria.
Essentially the client recognises that there would be no ‘Beautiful Game’ without the fans. In the same way that there are incredibly colourful characters on the field, there are equally mesmerising characters off the field – ‘the fans’.
And there is no one type of fan - there are literally thousands of different fan archetypes but we have chosen a mere handful of the most iconic to bring to life their unique love of the game. This is a campaign that will pay just as much tribute to those fans as to the game and the players themselves.
"When I saw the script I got really excited. The agency had written all of these wonderfully funny characters and I couldn’t wait to see them on film. It was one of those rare scripts that was just ready to shoot. Besides that, it’s not every year that you get to do a World cup advert for Coca-Cola”, Mikko comments
